Hello Gang, welcome to my second blog.
The past couple of months have been a busy time - balancing the organisation of Freshers’ Fortnight, the day-to-day jobs for our clubs and societies and also getting cracking on some of the longer term projects I am planning for the coming year.
Freshers’ Fortnight is once again looking to be the BEST EVER, with the Infamous Brightonian Nights Pub Crawl, Fresher Fest and The UK’s Biggest Freshers’ Ball, to name just a few of the things we have planned.
I have also been busy working closely with the University in the development of our new School Societies starting this year. This is an exciting new opportunity allowing you to run societies in your schools, improving your whole academic experience. Whether it’s Summer Balls, debates, trips…you name it, and we will help you make it happen for your societies.
Along with the lovely Officers at Brighton University SU, we are looking into an exciting new live act competition: Uni Unsigned. If you are a singer, song-writer, rapper or band, watch this space for an opportunity you will struggle to ignore. There are great opportunities in stall for the winners.
On top of all this, we are looking to create a Society Festival at the end of the Spring Term. This will be a chance for all of our societies to showcase what they do both on campus and in town as part of a week-long fringe programme. Let me know if your society would be interested in this by emailing activities@ussu.sussex.ac.uk!
If you are in a committee for a club or society, then I look forward to seeing you at our Activities Conference on the 23rd July where you can find out about exciting opportunities for your club/society and meet committee members. SIGN UP HERE:
